Four Brotairs College students got to see their des printed onto shirts and sold at a vintage car event this weekend. We have installed seven new swift nest boxes in a mission to provide a lifeline to the endangered bird. Brotairs chefs Ben and Harry won gold and silver at Kent's regional college skills competition.

Catering students welcomed game expert Phil Miles from Godmersham Game to share his skills in preparing and cooking. We're extremely pleased to be partnering with Brotairs College to provide learners with the best possible blend of academic and practical experience, which will aid entry into the leisure industry.

As a provider of sport to primary school children, it is pleasing to know there are future opportunities for them to gain qualifications in the sports and leisure industry. This was part of the opening of the POW! Thanet Festival Power of Women. The students made their own banners for the event. The poster de was transformed into billboard size to advertise the event. The Festival programme was deed by Level 3 Media student Harry. Ivan's photo, Eye of the Spawn, was taken at Walmer Castle. Ivan is a keen photographer outside of the College and has entered the competition in years.

The KFE4Skills competition sees students across Kent compete in vocational challenges related to the subject they are studying at college. This year the students worked alongside the cast and crew of My Fair Lady. The students watched demonstrations and got to test out the MAC Professional range. They also took a trip to the Urban Decay Superstore in London to stock up on new makeup for their course. This year, the students worked alongside the cast and crew of My Fair Lady. Both students have gone on to work with MAC Cosmetics and Benefit and now work as freelance makeup artists.

The ladies showed students how to create various looks and get the perfect lighting. Our Early Years students learn a lot about child development and how to make learning fun. This year, one of the student tasks was to find ways to talk about diversity with young people by using self-portraits. Students studying on our Supported Teaching and Learning courses were invited into Garlinge Primary School for a Question Time event with the head teacher and other staff to find out more about developments in primary education.

It was quite nerve wracking with all of the cameras and lights but it was really fun as well. Mike Collins, one of the owners and producers, kindly gave the students a tour and answered technical and music business questions. The students found it invaluable and it gave them a great insight into the recording studio world and the wider music industry. Our students have the opportunity to take part in live events throughout the year. From gigs at local bars to performing at our annual Student Awards, our students get to showcase their talent and learn about the music industry.

Learn the art of mixology. This practical training session is deed to give our hospitality students the skills and knowledge to create delicious mocktails and cocktails as well as refining their bartending skills. Learn what it takes to pour perfection. Having a full understanding of the intricacies of wine is a vital skill for any hospitality student. This interactive module combines practical and theory elements deed to give an introduction to the world of wine - how wine is made, stored, grape varieties, and the preparation and serving of wine.

Students will gain in-depth experience of all elements of Table Service, taking students back to basics and evolving their skills through a series of different service styles and techniques including Butler, Plated, Silver, Buffet, Arabic and Russian. Gain an in-depth understanding of table attire - the different types of table linen, tablecloths, napkins and centrepieces. Moving on to table laying, students will be shown the difference between each item of cutlery and glassware and how to set out a perfect table for any occasion.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside the Exclusive Butler School trainers at their prestigious Royal Butler Dinner. This event is held three times per year and gives the general public the experience of being a guest at venues such as a Royal Palace or Embassy.

You will receive practical training on how to clean and care for a variety of different shoes, including a spit and polish masterclass. This hands-on session will teach you essential valeting skills including how to valet shirts, suits and other specialist items to Butler standard. You will also cover effective wardrobe management, as well as packing and unpacking for your future employers.

Gain real insight into the industry by working with Looping the Loop on festivals, performance projects and pop up's with their street theatre actors in unexpected places around the Isle of Thanet. Performing Arts students will benefit from working with other students including music, media and theatrical makeup to help them fully understand the performance and creative industries.

You'll have the chance to take your performances out into the community, working at festivals, community events and putting on shows for school children. We offer a wide range of opportunities and the chance to progress into employment or higher education.
